The zTPFGI Regression Test Facility (zRTF) provides advanced regression testing for z/TPF. Here are some of its main features:

• Runs on z/TPF — not simulated
• Run Phase 1 to collect base-line data
• Load new versions and re-collect transaction data
• Run Phase 2 to collect new data
• Compare the logs to determine - what changed
• Run both phases in parallel (on 2 different z/TPF systems)
• Configuration files present for configuring an RTF run
• Plans are for GUI interface for programmers to run RTF (user-level)
• Collect transaction data based on individual messages, or message files
• Collect data based on specific—file writes, tape writes, terminal i/o, etc.
• Collect transaction path information—program called
• User customizable (number of concurrent RTF runs, etc.)
